Performer Barb Jungr has been appearing regularly in Corby with friends at The Core since it opened. Now Barb and musicians from Corby celebrate the town in song. With a new song cycle inspired by the people and stories of the town, written by Barb and by musicians alongside local traditional song, performers, musicians and singers come together for a concert to celebrate the second birthday of The Core@Corby Cube, the town's superb new Arts Centre. Jungr has spent time in Corby working alongside artists and musicians, meeting people and recording their stories. A choir and musicians comes together especially for the concert.
Barb Jungr is a singer, recording artist and writer, who works internationally and writes for theatre. Originally from the northwest of England, she married the Barnwell and later, Oundle based writer, Paddy Kitchen's son, Dan, and spent many years visiting and staying in the area. Jungr runs an evening season for Corby Cube, Barb Jungr and friends, with guest musicians from all over the UK.

We're meeting on the 12th of September to bring together a choir to perform on November the 10th, to celebrate The Core's second birthday.
Working with Choir leader Gareth Fuller, you will be performing a set of new songs about Corby written byinternational jazz star Barb Jungr with a group of local musicians.
Our first meeting will be 7.00pm - 8.30pm on Wednesday 12th of September, when you can meet Barb and Gareth, and we'll have our first informal sing-together and an introduction to the project. There is no charge for the rehersal sessions.
If you've always wanted to try and singing, then do come along to find your hidden talents.
